5 Reasons to Have a Gorse Hill Hotel Wedding

It is easy to see why you would fall in love with Gorse Hill for your wedding venue. But in case you need any persuasion, here are 5 reasons to choose this lovely Surrey hotel.

Perfect English Edwardian Manor House

The first reason to book Gorse Hill is that it’s just so pretty. This romantic Edwardian Country House is the perfect backdrop for your wedding day. It is set back from the road, down a long drive, in its own grounds. Built in 1912, the hotel facade hasn’t changed in over a century. It’s an architectural gem, with columns both inside and outside, a rounded cast iron balcony above the large bay window and shutters. Inside the hotel is tastefully decorated in muted greys and black and white prints hang on the walls. Typical of their time the ceilings are high and the public rooms are spacious. It’s the perfect place for a party, which takes me to my second point…

Exclusive use

Civil ceremonies can be held from Monday to Friday in the Mansion House for up to 90 guests or the Garden Suite can be exclusively yours from midday to midnight for your wedding day on a Saturday or Sunday. The Garden Suite can cater for up to 150 guests and has a large bar and an outdoor covered space with seating. The team at Gorse Hill will help make your wedding dream into a reality.

Accommodation

Thirdly, not having accommodation can be a deal breaker for couples getting married. Wanting on site accommodation for guests, so they can enjoy the party and have a drink before falling into a comfortable bed for the night. Gorse Hill has 67 bedrooms, everything to suit different budgets from a junior suite to a standard single. In addition the Honeymoon Suite is rather lovely with its own balcony that overlooks the gardens and the Garden Suite. So you can all have breakfast together in the morning or not!

Gardens

Fourthly the hotel is set in 17 acres of grounds and backs on to Woking Golf Club. The gardens are beautifully manicured and there’s a lawn for garden games to keep guests amused. In addition there are several nice spots for photos to give lots of variety to your album. The pine trees that lead down to the Garden Suite are festooned with lights and make for great evening photos. There is loads of outdoor seating in the gardens and on the patio.

Location

Finally Gorse Hill is only 10 minutes from Woking town centre and its train station. Also the hotel is conveniently close to the M3, M25 and Heathrow, great for any international guests. Add to this that London is just over an hour away by car. And if you decide to drive to the hotel there is plenty of parking for everyone.

There you have it. My top 5 reasons to get married at Gorse Hill Hotel.
