An Autumn Wedding at The Welcome Church, Woking

Choosing a Woking wedding photographer who knows the local venues makes a real difference on the day. I had the pleasure of photographing a beautiful wedding at The Welcome Church in Woking, where friends and family travelled from across the globe to celebrate. From quiet getting ready moments to a joyful sparkler send off, here is how the day unfolded.

Getting Ready

The bride got ready at home with her bridesmaids. Meanwhile my second photographer was with the groom and his groomsmen. Mornings like this are always full of laughter and nervous excitement. There were gifts exchanged within the wedding party. And the bride’s father kept everyone on schedule.

The Ceremony at The Welcome Church, Woking

The ceremony took place at The Welcome Church. The pews filled quickly with guests who had travelled from around the world to be there. The bride walked down the aisle on her father’s arm. During the service family members read in both English and Portuguese, adding a personal and moving touch to the service. After their first kiss as a married couple, they signed the register together. Then it was time for confetti outside.

Portraits by the Canal

Whilst guests mingled, we took a little time just for the two of them before the celebrations continued. We drove to the nearby Basingstoke Canal, where the soft autumn light along the water gave us a lovely backdrop for their couple photos.

The Wedding Breakfast and Speeches

The wedding breakfast was held back at the church, followed by speeches from close family and friends. A few brave speakers tackled both English and Portuguese, much to the delight of the room. The three tier cake, covered in soft pink flowers, was a lovely finishing touch to the reception space.

Dancing and Sparklers

Once the dance floor opened, things got competitive fast. A dance off broke out between the men and the women, and I honestly could not call a winner. The evening wound down with sparklers lighting up the dark, giving the couple a warm and glittering send off.

With thanks to the suppliers behind the day: Bride to be (wedding dress), Emma Wade (hair and makeup), and Bloomfield Avenue (band).
