After documenting her getting ready, I did a few shots with her bridesmaids out in the sunshine – which caused some honking of horns from passing traffic! Then it was time to jump in the car and get down to St Michael’s church in Camberley – easier said than done on a Saturday morning just days before Christmas. Fortunately I had my second shooter ready at the church and she was able to photograph James and his best man, Tim, who had come down for the wedding from Yorkshire. Julia walked down the aisle with her son, Luke, which was lovely to see. There was quite a lot of North/South banter during the service not least because the pastor was also a Yorkshire man – and it helped ease wedding party nerves.
After the ceremony we did some couple portraits in the grounds of the church, before making our way to the reception in Camberley. Although I didn’t stay for the wedding breakfast, I made sure that I photographed some detail shots and we did a few other groups that there hadn’t been time to get at the church, I can always be flexible if the couple or a guest wants a particular image on the day.
Thank you to James & Julia it was an honour to be your wedding photographer. Congratulations!
