Camberley pre-wedding photography

I am delighted to have been asked to photograph the wedding of this lovely couple at Bury Court Barn, which will take place next year in the Spring. I invite couples to choose somewhere that is special to them and so with these guys we met at Barossa common near Camberley and walked up on to the ridge. It’s amazing that it’s so near the town but when you’re there you would not realise it – a wonderful place for walking and exploring. The Ridge gives spectacular views in every direction and made for a great backdrop for their photos, with soft autumnal yellows and greens one way and pine forests and a huge sky the other.

For their pre-wedding photoshoot I had, as always, hoped for a beautiful golden hour. This is the time just before sunset when the shadows are longer and the sun’s rays are softer and more diffused. The golden light can make for beautiful romantic photographs. But unfortunately the sun didn’t really want to come out to play that day and it was more overcast than golden.

We were also visited by the small herd of belted Galloway cattle, that graze on the common, who were inquisitive without being intrusive! We even managed to get them in a couple of the photos. It was a pleasant way to spend time getting to know this lovely couple. I really enjoy hearing about how my couples met, how he proposed and all of those details. Another reason that I like the pre-wedding shoot is that it gives my couples the opportunity to get used to being in front of the camera, to see how I work and to ask any questions.  If you feel nervous or hate being photographed I would highly recommend a session before your wedding day.

I’m looking forward to photographing their wedding next year.
