For many couples, having awesome wedding day photos as a forever memory of your day is right at the top of the wedding planning list. Hours of research can go into choosing the right Surrey wedding photographer for your day and the right photographer for your personalities and needs.
Your Surrey wedding day photos will be better if you have a pre-wedding photo shoot
Many couples will pour over photographers’ websites, follow multiple photographers on their social media accounts and even confess to Pinterest stalking them or Facebook stalking them! And why not? This person is perhaps one of the most important suppliers on your wedding day. Not only do they hold the key to providing you with long lasting forever memories of your day, but they will be the person you’ll be hanging out with the most on the day of your wedding (after your new spouse of course!). If your wedding day photos are right at the top of your list of most important things, then I believe you should be getting your engagement session with your photographer booked in.
The simple reason why? Your wedding day photos will be better. Not because your wedding photographer needs the practise, it’s because you need to feel comfortable in front of your wedding photographer. Many people will simple say that a pre-wedding photo shoot is about being comfortable in front of the camera, but how many selfies have you taken this past week?! For most people these days, being comfortable in front of the camera is not a cause for concern. You do however, need to be comfortable in front of your photographer. The pre-wedding shoot is a great time to get to hang out with your photographer, in a relaxed environment with no one else around. You will naturally start chatting to each other, finding out more about each other and just generally start being yourselves in front of them, this will reflect in your photos, trust me. When you get your photos back, look at the very first photo taken, and then compare that to one of the photos that has been taken 10 – 20 minutes into the photo shoot. You’ll see a huge difference in your facial expressions and the way that you hold your shoulders in particular.
A pre-wedding photo shoot will ensure you’ll feel like you’re hanging out with a friend on the day of your Surrey wedding
If you’re choosing Wedition customer choice supplier Mercedes Evans as your Surrey wedding photographer, you may end up hearing about the funny antics of Archie, her cocker spaniel or chat about the latest edition of Would I Lie To You? she’s been watching. Finding out things in common and sharing a giggle together is guaranteed to let you relax around this new person who is about to play a very important role at your Surrey wedding.
When you see your wedding photographer for the first time on your wedding day, you will be beaming from ear-to-ear as it will feel like an old but very special friend has just arrived. When your wedding party, family and friends see how relaxed you are with your photographer, then this in turn will rub off on them and help them to feel comfortable too. Your personalities and relationship with each other will naturally shine through in your wedding day photos.

Siobhan and Scott booked Mercedes Evans to be their Surrey wedding photographer for their wedding at Frimley Hall. They arranged one of her engagement sessions which was held at Fleet Pond in Hampshire, they had a gorgeous selection of photos to choose from and selected their favourite to use on the cover of their Wedition.
Pre-wedding photo shoot images make for an awesome signing frame photo and guest book
Perhaps you are keen for your guests to leave you a message or words of wisdom on your wedding day? You can use the photos from your pre-wedding photo shoot to create a guest book for guests to sign. You may select an image and have it enlarged and get guests to sign the border of the image. It is most likely that these will be the first set of professional photos you have had taken so you’ll want to use them in many ways! Perhaps you’ll add them onto your wedding website, share them on your social media pages and include them in your wedding invitations.
