I love a Spring wedding, they’re are always filled with an extra touch of magic, and this one at Gorse Hill Hotel was no exception. From the bride’s stylish transport to the evening celebrations, every moment was a testament to love and there were a couple of fun surprises during the day.
Getting ready
The day began with the bride and her bridesmaids getting ready in room number 4 at Gorse Hill Hotel. The prep room was a buzz of activity, filled with laughter, anticipation, and a few emotional moments as the final touches were added to hair, makeup, and her stunning wedding dress.
The bride looked so beautiful and happy as she posed for photos with her mum and bridesmaids.
Then it was time for dad to come and see his daughter in her wedding dress.
The church
Meanwhile, the groom and his groomsmen were at St. Dunstan’s Catholic Church ready for the ceremony.
When the guests had gone inside the church, I waited outside with the bridesmaids. Suddenly there was the loud sound of an old fashioned siren. And Mabel the vintage fire truck appeared round the corner. What a show stopping arrival!
The Ceremony
The ceremony at St. Dunstan’s was a beautiful blend of tradition and heartfelt emotion. The couple exchanged vows surrounded by their closest friends and family, their love shining as brightly as the sunlight streaming through the windows.
Back to Gorse Hill
After the ceremony, the newlyweds and their guests returned to Gorse Hill for the rest of the day’s festivities. The couple stole a few quiet moments for themselves during their couple’s photos, in the stunning grounds of the hotel.
The couple were delighted to see their dog of honour wearing her special wedding day neckerchief.
Afterward, it was time for group photos and a joyous confetti moment, with cheers and laughter and confetti getting absolutely everywhere!
The Wedding Breakfast
As the guests mingled during the drinks reception, the atmosphere was relaxed and happy. Gorse Hill’s gardens provided a lovely setting for people to chat and enjoy a drink. Soon, everyone made their way inside for the wedding breakfast.
They had speeches after the meal.
And then it was time for another surprise from the bride and groom – singing waiters. Everyone loved it, joining in, singing, dancing and doing the conga round the room. You can see from their faces how much fun they all had.
The Evening Celebrations
After the excitement of the singing waiters, it was time for the cake cutting. The couple shared this classic tradition, and then moved seamlessly into their first dance with everyone gathered around to watch. And the final surprise was the confetti cannon – I’m not sure that the bride and groom knew that was happening!
As the evening continued, the newlyweds stepped outside for some photos amongst the pine trees beneath the festoon lights.
Back inside, the dance floor was packed with energy as guests celebrated late into the evening. It was the perfect way to end such a wonderful day.
