Summer Festival Wedding at Stokes Farm Barn

The groom twirls his bride across a sunlit field during their evening portraits at Stokes Farm Barn.

This summer festival wedding at Stokes Farm Barn was full of golden sunshine, wildflowers and relaxed countryside charm, exactly what this Berkshire barn venue does best. The couple opted for the Festival package. So there were several different drinks stations and food vans to feed guests. A really chilled and fun celebration.

Getting Ready

The morning started in the lovely Preparation Room in the Honeymoon Suite. The bride having her makeup done while the bridesmaids got ready alongside her. Robes on, champagne poured, and plenty of laughter before anyone got into their dresses.

Groom Prep

Whilst the bride had her meeting with the registrars, I managed to grab a couple of photos of the groom in the Main Barn. Tie straightened, waistcoat buttoned, and a last moment to himself before the ceremony began.

The Ceremony

Guests gathered on the lawn in front of the Main Barn, its dark timber and red tiled roof making a beautiful backdrop. It was wonderful that their senior dog was able to join in for the occasion. The bride walked down the aisle on her father’s arm to a visibly emotional groom. After the vows the newlyweds walked back through a shower of confetti.

The Drinks Reception

With confetti still in their hair, the couple mingled with family and friends over drinks on the lawn, with food trucks parked up ready for later in the day.

Couple Photos

We slipped away for twenty minutes to catch the last of the golden hour light in the surrounding fields and wildflower meadows, easily one of the highlights of the whole day.

The Wedding Breakfast

There were two food vans, pizza and fish and chips. Guests loved the super relaxed feel and great food. People were able to eat on the lawn, under the stretch tent, on the patio and in the beautifully decorated Lower Barn. The long tables were dressed with sage green runners and strings of fairy lights overhead, a lovely contrast to the exposed brick and timber.

The Evening Party

As the sun went down the party moved into the Main Barn. There was the cutting of the cake. Followed by the first dance under the fairy lights. As I left guests were back outdoors, playing games and chatting in the warm summer evening.
