Summer brought beautiful light for this wedding at The Welcome Church in Woking. A venue that I’ve photographed several times. The couple kept the day personal from the morning right through to the evening ceilidh. With friends and family pitching in to help make it entirely their own.
Getting Ready
The bride’s parents had travelled a distance for the wedding, so they booked a beautiful period Airbnb nearby for the week. The bride got ready there with her bridesmaids and family. The neighbours next door even offered up their stunning garden for portraits later in the day. It was such a generous offer and a really lovely bonus.

Arriving at The Welcome Church
The bride arrived at the Welcome Church in a beautiful vintage car with her father. Friends played a big part throughout the day. Including the harpist who’s music set a lovely tone as everyone took their seats.

The Ceremony
The Welcome Church was full of family and friends. After exchanging rings, the couple shared their first kiss as a married couple, and walked back down the aisle together to cheers and applause.

Wedding Party and Garden Portraits
With the ceremony finished, we gathered the wedding party for a group photo. Then jumped back in the cars to the airbnb and the neighbour’s stunning garden. The trimmed hedges and quiet corners gave us a lovely, relaxed setting for some portraits together.

The Reception
Guests welcomed the couple into the reception with confetti and applause, surrounded by thoughtful touches the couple and their friends had put together themselves. The cake was a particular highlight, made by a friend and finished with handmade figures and a little tree that the bride had made herself.

Speeches and the Evening Ceilidh
Speeches brought plenty of laughter, and the celebrations carried on into the evening with a full ceilidh band. The dancing was energetic from the first song to the last, and it was clear everyone was having a brilliant time.

A huge thank you to the couple’s friends and family, who played the music, helped with the catering and baked that wonderful cake.
