Farnham Castle bridal photography
This was my first bridal shoot with the lovely ladies from the Farnham Boutique and also the first time that I had been to Farnham Castle. And what a sunny day it was to visit and do a bridal shoot. The sun was blazing but it had snowed the night before, so it was a slippery drive up the hill to the castle.
The lovely Becky of the Farnham Boutique had organised the shoot. They supplied all of the dresses which are designed and made to measure in house and they give you the option of customizing your dress to your preference, for example changing the neckline, adding a buttoned or corset back or shortening/lengthening the train. So these are unique dresses that you won’t see elsewhere.
Our model for the day was the beautiful Scarlett Howard. Ever the professional, she never complained, even running barefoot through the snow! Scarlett was a dream to work with and made my job easy.
The make up artist
I have worked with Kate Causton before at weddings and for the shoot she was doing both the makeup and hair. Kate was able to spend the whole day with us and she created a couple of different styles for the various looks that we wanted.
Both the flower crown and the bouquet were supplied by Wattle and Daub, an amazing home shop in Godalming. Did you realise that they were faux flowers? We were delighted with how gorgeous they looked.
Farnham Castle is a genuinely stunning venue for any event, but how special to get married in this historic building. We were very fortunate to have the run of the whole castle on a quiet Monday in the winter. We were given use of the honeymoon suite for hair and make up and dressing. It’s such a gorgeous suite that we ended up photographing both in the huge bathroom and in the bedroom. But there was so much more to explore both indoors and of course outside in the beautiful snow covered grounds.
A huge thanks to everyone involved; very talented and highly recommended suppliers.
